Lost - those damn numbers
So, how many times do those numbers appear on the show? More than you might think. Warning, only click on the link if you've seen the entire season.

Hmmm. Is this the place to talk about never-be-coming and upcoming TV?
I have just seen the unaired, un-picked pilot for "Global Frequency", and hate to say it, but that's one show that deserved its fate. The idea was neat, the pilot looks good, but the script was so boring, and the dialogue re-defines the word "crap".
On the other hand, there's the pilot for "Prison Break" - which I think can be described as a something between "OZ", "The Fugitive", "Wiseguy" and "24" - about a man who commits a crime in order to get arrested, so that he can free his falsly-accused brother, who's on a death row. The script cleverly sets political sub-plots, but it was really the superb acting and stylish direction (by Brett Ratner), that caught my eye. It's scheduled for next season, and should be put on everyone's "must-see" list.

Due to being dead-tired, I didn't nag you the last time we met, but please get on with you-know-what.
I've finally seen the GF pilot, and while I'm not as critical as you, I agree that it's problematic. The actors cast as "Shawn" and "Catrina" were problematic at best. Especially the guy playing Shawn, which a huge problem, as he's the guy the audience is supposed to connect with - the new guy who doesn't know what's going on.
The dialogue was occasionally stilted, and could certainly use some reworking. But it looked to me like a pilot in need of some tweaking, which could certainly be turned into a good show.
And I LOVE Michelle Forbes, and she fits the character extremely well.
Well, I think the problem, again, was with the script itself. The entire basic stracture needed complete re-working if they ever hoped to get anything decent out of it. Guess we'll never find out.
But everything IS relative - I have had the chance to see the un-picked pilot for the new "Lost in Space" and this one makes the the script of the GF pilot look like Hamlet. And the actors were horrible. And the effects were gross. And the direction (god, what has John Woo gone down to) was dreadful. And the list goes on. Kind of makes you sad to see where all former Buffy talents go after their show's death.
Speaking of which...
"The Inside" which premiered this week, seems like a gathering place for "Buffy" and "Angel" veterans from all over (both on and off screen). Judging from the pilot, it's an ok show. Not amazing, but ok. The story is cliche'd, and there really isn't a plot twist you can't see coming from miles ahead. Characters need some serious developing (either that, or dropping at least two members of the current five regulars - the show just doesn't have enough things to do for all of them). But it looks nice, very 1990s-stylish-darkness, and cast is charismatic enough. The potential is there.
Than there is also "4400", which started its second season last week with an ok episode, and followed this week with a really great one. It started as a poor-man's X-Files, but this season it seems to be getting its own character and style. Recommended.
And finally, "The Dead Zone" opened its fourth season this week. Hands-down: best genre show in the last four years. A must-see.
